Is it really possible for Blu-Ray to make Paths of Glory look any "better"? I'm all for what Criterion does with film restoration, but it seems like it would be impossible to bring high definition to something so old.
ReplyDeleteI know they've done restorations of Casablanca, Africa Queen already, not Criterion, but other folks, and that apparently turned out really great. I have no idea how the hell they do it, but I guess it is possible to make something that old look "better." Mostly i'd be stoked to see a glossier version of The Thin Red Line though, one of my favorites.
